SEMESTER 2 2017
We’ve been busy bees so far this semester!
Worried about the possibility of a winter washout, we held the semester 2 welcome event indoors, in the gorgeous 1888 building. The PEN committee cooked up a vegetarian storm – cupcakes, muffins, bliss balls, a trio homemade dips – yum!
A warm welcome to all new students. This family can’t get too big!
What did we get up to last semester?
SEMESTER 1 2017
Every semester, PEN hosts a welcome event for incoming OEP students. The semester 1 event was held is system gardens and was our first foray into buying only local and sustainable food and drinks for PEN events.
25+ PENsters headed up along the Great Ocean Road to Lorne for a lovely beachside weekend camping trip, complete with hiking, waterfalls, yummy homemade food and lighthouses!
Environmental Careers in a Changing Climate
In conjunction with the Graduate Science faculty, PEN coordinated a careers night for students wanting to learn more about working in the environment sector. The evening included breakaway Q&A sessions with representatives from ERM, the Green Infrastructure Group, the EY Climate Change and Sustainability Services team, John Holland group, 350.org, DELP, EPA, AECOM, etc., and concluded with an informal networking evening catered ethically by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.
